SIXT, Europe’s leading mobility provider, has won the Business Travel Award in the category “Best New Travel Technology Product.” With more than 1,200 guests at this year’s award ceremony in London, the award is considered to be the “Oscar of the business travel industry.” The coveted award for the best technological travel innovation was presented to the Managing Director of SIXT UK, Per Vögerl, at a festive gala event on Monday. The internationally renowned award is presented by Buying Business Travel, the leading business travel publication in the UK. An independent international jury had awarded prizes in 22 categories.
Commenting on SIXT’s recognition at the 25th Business Travel Awards, the jury said that with its app and the “ONE” platform, Sixt sent in a great submission that demonstrated innovation and all-round growth. One judge said SIXT is a ‘super brand’ with its SIXT App and the ‘ONE’ platform showing it is leading the way, with the brand only going to get bigger and stronger in the international mobility market.
“ONE” is the world’s first mobility platform to combine the products car rental (SIXT rent), car-sharing (SIXT share) and ride-hailing/taxi (SIXT ride) with more than 270,000 vehicles, 1,500 affiliated partners and around 1.5 million drivers in a single 2 app. SIXT customers can easily book and pay for the three products via a single app.
In addition to its own offerings, the SIXT app also integrates services from other partners via the “ONE” mobility platform, forging a strategic alliance for mobility. With its own app, SIXT wants to offer its customers services and products worldwide, implementing its vision of offering an integrated mobility platform. By digitalizing its product portfolio and integrating additional partners, SIXT is developing into a global provider of individual mobility.

Since the launch of the mobility platform “ONE” and the SIXT App close to a year ago, SIXT has already received several awards for innovative digital projects. Board members Alexander Sixt and Konstantin Sixt, for example, were honored as “Digitisers 2019” with the Digital Champions Award from WirtschaftsWoche and Deutsche Telekom for successfully advancing the digitalization of mobility. Manager Magazin and the consulting firm Bain & Company also honored the mobility platform “ONE” and the app with the renowned Game Changer Award.
