Pullach, March 10, 2021 – A great honor for Regine Sixt: The WINiT network for women in travel-related industries, an organization of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), honors the successful entrepreneur as well as founder and chairwoman of the children’s aid foundation named after her, ” Drying Little Tears,” with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Each year, the Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes female leaders who have fundamentally advanced the travel industry with an outstanding career and great commitment. The WINiT by GBTA global network advances the careers of women in travel-related industries.

Christle Johnson, Chairperson GBTA, explained Regine Sixt’s nomination as follows: “This year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award is someone who’s an inspiration to many. She has spent the last few decades building a company with a history of more than 100 years into a top global car rental organization. Her leadership in developing partnerships with airlines, hotel and travel chains around the world has been the driving force behind positioning the company as a market leader for mobility solutions.”

As one of the world’s leading premium mobility service providers, SIXT combines global car rental and local car-sharing solutions, cab, rideshare, chauffeur and car subscription services into one of the world’s largest mobility platforms. In doing so, SIXT integrates services from over 1,500 mobility partners in addition to its own vehicle offering, forging a strategic, sustainable, and future-proof alliance for mobility.

But Regine Sixt has not only made a significant contribution to the success of the SIXT company. The entrepreneur has also dedicated herself to social commitment with extraordinary verve. For example, she founded the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation “Drying Little Tears”, which is committed to fighting poverty and promoting education and health for children around the world. Whether building schools in Africa or renovating children’s hospital wards – with more than 210 projects in over 55 countries, she and her foundation have been able to make a significant contribution in recent years.

Regine Sixt, Senior Executive Vice President SIXT International:
“To be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of GBTA’s global WINiT network is both a great honor for me and a motivator.
